How the egg comes by its KAT quality label
A laying establishment, an egg packing station or a mixed feed manufacturer which would like to be recognised as a KAT establishment must first apply for membership. Independent inspection agencies then establish during an initial inspection whether the company concerned meets all KAT criteria. During such an inspection the auditor records all the establishment-related data, entering them in the KAT database. If the establishment is awarded certification, it is then cleared within the database.
